Vancouver Wild in the Streets 2009

Jun 22, 2009

As usual, this year’s Go Skateboarding Day in Vancouver was a huge hit. This year the Emerica Wild in The Streets event featured the Emerica team who skated along from spot to spot with everyone. Luckily for everyone the rain held off for the fourth consecutive year, and fun was had by all.

Edmonton’s Jaime Tancowny was all up in the mix with the Emericans and skated like a beast. Here he is pictured doing a huge Backsideflip over the tabletop.

Andrew Reynolds was the star of the show at this year’s Go Skate Day. At the Plaza he Fronside Flipped and Shifty Flipped the tabletop.

The party went from Vancouver’s Downtown Skate Plaza to Hot Spot, and from there to Victory Square Park. Here Alien attempts a Frontside Bluntslide for the on-lookers.

MC Cyrus kept the crowd on track and on schedule again this year. He ever doled out some cash for tricks. Nice work, Cy!

At Victory Square Park, Cyrus said over the megaphone that the first person to land a flip trick would get some dough, and Micky Papa was happy to oblige with a first try 360flip.

The crowd skated towards the Black Double set.

Steady mobbin' at the Black Double, awaiting the action.

Epic spot, timeless trick. Andrew Reynolds, Frontside Flip black double.

Don Brown, VP of Marketing at Sole Technologies was donning a Mountie uniform.

After the shredding at the Black Double was finished, the next spot was New Spot and Matt Berger did a Backsideflip over the rail.

The pack rolled down Georgia Street towards Strathcona Skatepark.

Timebomb buddies, Judah Oakes, Garret Louie and Mike McKinlay document the schralp.

A view of the city from the Georgia Street viaduct as the mob heads towards the session at Strathcona Park where there were hotdogs and great times had by everyone. Thanks to everyone at Emerica, Timebomb Trading, and all the skateboarder that attended this year’s event. See you all next year!
